Hi Vicki, That’s a good question. We’ve had foresters come and do prescriptions for our area. They advise us on which trees to take out. As an example, aspen groves are often found coming up through dense lodgepole stands. We remove the tight lodgepoles in an area much like they would naturally have burned back when fires were allowed to cycle through the area naturally. With a little more space and sunlight, the aspens thrive.
